Dear Judges,

My name is Na’kieya Dunbar and im a senior at Garinger Highschool. I’m also an A ‘ B honor roll
student with a 2.9 GPA. My Presentation is about people bullying handicapped, mentally ill and
disabled people. I choose this topic because I was bullied in middle school and I have actually
stopped someone from messing with the special needs that was at school with me and I've
decided to talk about it for my presentation.

My thesis statement is that the handicap and disabled are subjected to vicious attacks more often
than other people because of their insensitivity to their physical and mental conditions, they are
unable to defend themselves and being Marginalized in today’s society. My solutions to this
problem is to be an upstander, talk to a trusted person, have a strong support system, go to
therapy or counseling or make a anti-bullying club for the people who has went through bullying
situations or people who are going through it now.

I have learned that bullying isn’t something that you want for anyone even yourself. I've also
learned that we as students and parents or even teachers that we should not always be
aggressive, ungrateful and always want sympathy because there is always someone going
through something way more worse than what we are going through.

Yes, I will absolutely take my presentation in consideration because the mentally ill and disabled
people are actually smart people and it's wrong to see them get hurt so I would volunteer to help
or even teach them at any point in time in my life whether I'm in college or not.

Sincerely,

Na’kieya Dunbar
