Updated Philosophy Statement

My philosophy of teaching is to create a welcoming, loving, organized environment for

my students. I believe that children thrive in a warm environment where they feel they are

believed in, and where they have someone in their corner. Since the beginning of my educational

studies, I have always wanted to become the teacher who students can come to for anything. I

want to be the teacher who makes new students feel welcome, and current students feel loved. I

believe that there is always room for improvement, and I plan to continue my professional

studies to gain as much knowledge as possible, to be the best teacher I can be.

As a teacher, it is my goal to meet the needs of all my students. I hope to create a

classroom environment that is well-organized and managed so that all students can learn at the

best of their ability. In my classroom, I plan to promote diversity. No two students are alike, and

I plan to encourage my students to be themselves. I know that all students also learn in their own

ways, so I plan to incorporate all types of assignments and activities to appeal to all types

learners. I am hopeful that my classroom will be a place where all students feel they can succeed,

but that they also know they can always ask for help if they need it.

Parents/Guardians will be a big part of my classroom, as I will include them in as many

ways as possible. I believe that a personal relationship with my students’ families will go a long

way. My goal is to meet with each family at least every couple months to go over how their child

is progressing. I also plan to send a quick note home with their child weekly. I plan to be open

about anything parents may have questions or concerns about.

In my classroom, we will all be respectful of each other. I believe that if I show respect

to my students, they will show respect in return. I am hopeful that my students will become

independent learners, and that there will be several aspects in my classroom that interests all

students. We will start our day with a smile and will have a set schedule so that students can feel

comfortable in knowing what’s happening next. I believe that a happy, warm, inviting classroom

is what our students need to learn.
