About The Author: Anil Lamba

A practicing chartered accountant, bestselling author, financial literacy activist and international corporate
trainer, Dr Anil Lamba holds degrees in commerce and law, and a doctorate in taxation. He is a prolific writer
with several books to his credit, and has contributed over fifteen hundred articles to leading newspapers and
magazines. With over two decades of experience in training and consultancy, Dr Lamba has created and
developed a series of videos titled "Figure out the World of Figures", and has done pioneering work in
distance education and e-learning. His training programs are held internationally with a client list exceeding
one thousand large- and medium-sized corporations spreading across India, the US, Europe, the Middle
East and the Far East. He is the founder-director of Lamcon School of Management, a renowned business
school located at Pune, India.

Review:

In the book, author has emphasized the requirement of having skill of financial management. He has nicely
elaborated the importance of financial management and shown how a person working in Sales, BPO, HR,
Software also make some financial decisions which influence organization’s profit. He asserts that there is
no one who doesn’t take any financial decision in his life. Whether you run your own company, lead a
multinational operation, work in the ranks or are planning a start-up, you have a responsibility towards the
profitability only if you learn to understand the impact of every one of your actions on the organization’s
bottom line.

This book presents methods of measuring profitability of an organization in an effective manner. It helps us
to learn balance sheet and its components in comprehensive manner. This book has delineated the contents
in a very compact form and topics have been discussed elaborately. We visualize the contents in the book
and can have fun while reading it. Presentation of facts and figures is awesome and interesting, as the name
of the book itself indicates. This book can surely provide a good insight about Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss
Account and overall financial management to the readers. It creates an interest in the readers at beginning
itself and inspires them to continue till last page. Presence of proverbs in between over the pages exhibits
another aspect of its beauty. Topics have been clarified with the help of examples and tables where ever
possible so that readers don’t get too much of texts anywhere in the book.

Simply by opening the book you allow yourself to be invited and reading it. Pages have been designed nicely
with an appealing cover. Of course, thickness of the page gives you additional comfort in reading it and font
size is quite attractive. Your eyes don’t get any strain while reading it.

 Each and every organization has profit its first objective and contribution of employees working there
is of utmost importance. Employees will contribute to their optimum capacity if they know and
understand the importance of financial management. This book teaches the same. All bankers
should go through this book to have better idea of financial management method and balance sheet
as well, especially those who are from non-financial background
 This book tells about bottom line and its importance in an organization. It is very important for a
bank to have healthy and sound bottom line and this fact to be understood by all its employees.
