Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

Hyderabad Section

Joint Chapter of Circuits and Systems and Electron Devices (CAS/ED) Societies
In collaboration with
VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Nizampet, Hyderabad
Presents
A Three day CASS Membership Development workshop on
Advance Internet of Things with Machine Learning (IoT with ML)
Dates: 23 – 25 September 2019
Workshop funded under: IEEE 2019 Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) Outreach program

About the workshop: Internet of Things is the next big technology wave in the current circuits and systems world, it is imperative
for engineering faculty and students to keep themselves abreast with this niche technology. IEEE CAS Hyderabad Section has build
expertise in this area and has conducted similar workshops on IoT in various locations in India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. IEEE
Hyderabad Section has also initiated an India Working Group (IWG) on IEEE Standards 1451 on IoT Harmonization which is led by
Prof. William Miller and Prof. Kang Lee at the International level. The IEEE Hyderabad Section has also established an IoT lab in IEEE
MJCET Student branch and a blueprint of the lab with List of components, List of Experiments, Bill of Materials, lab manual is already
available. It is intended to conduct this workshop on Advanced IoT with Machine learning in four colleges spread across the
Hyderabad section, Vizag Bay Subsection, Guntur Subsection and Ananthapuram Subsection. The main aim is to provide hands - on
training on IoT experiments and also to improve the IEEE CASS Society membership.

About IEEE CASS/EDS Chapter: It is one of the most active technical society in IEEE Hyderabad Section which was established in
2012. In the last seven years, it has successfully conducted four IEEE International conferences and many technical workshops and
lectures. It has a strong membership base of about 400 members and has been appreciated for its membership development
activities in the recent years. It has been successful in receiving funding from IEEE Headquarters from both CASS and EDS chapters.
Further, through its outreach programs it has established linkages with CAS chapters of Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka
many joint events have been conducted.

About the Host (Dept’s of ECE & EEE, BVCITS): In 2002, both the departments started the B.Tech Degree programme with 60 seats
affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada. Currently the departments run the programme with
student intake of 120. In 2012, Dept. of ECE started M.Tech course in VLSI System with an intake of 18. Both the Departments are
accredited by NBA. At the outset, the Departments have built an excellent reputation for its graduates in terms of academics,
placements and R&D activities.
