Dear Future School/System,

I am writing with regards to the Special Education teaching position for the 2020-2021
school year. Over the past five years I have been completing my degrees in both Physical
Education and my Master’s degree in Special Education. I am very excited to pursue my passion
of educating students with special needs which gives me the opportunity to utilize my skills and
experiences to educate each student so that they become productive citizens in the future.

Throughout my time at Emory & Henry College, I have had the opportunity to develop
numerous professional experiences within multiple departments such as Housing & Residence
Life, Career Services, Admissions, Student Leadership groups, Conference Services, and the
Education Department itself. The experiences that I have had both on campus and in the local
school system of Washington County, have given me the opportunities to take on great
responsibility, develop networking skills, and refine my leadership abilities. These opportunities
have allowed me to get my feet wet in the Admissions office, Housing & Residence Life, and
statewide professional organizations like the Virginia Middle School Association.

In addition to my Master of Arts degree in Special Education and the experiences coming
from a small college, I have developed into a critical thinking individual who I know has the
confidence and passion to make a difference in the lives of each student. My firm belief in
putting the students at the forefront of everything I do, along with the passion I have for students
with special needs, has brought me to the idea of being an educator in your school. I look
