Anchor 1: And now, for the details, The South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on
Thursday that China had opened weather observation stations on Fiery Cross,
Subi and Mischief reefs in the Spratly group of islands. The Hong ong daily
newspaper, SCMP, reported that China did not deny that it could be used for
military purposes and quoted in a press briefing that spokesperson for China’s
foreign ministry Lu Kang said that these weather stations would mainly be used to
ensure navigational safety in the South China Sea.
Meanwhile, Duque declares National Dengue Outbreak; Duterte hesitant on

With the Philippines recording a total of 146,062 dengue cases from January to July this year,
Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque declared a national dengue outbreak in the
country. Such record of cases is 98% more than the same period last year, which prompted
President Rodrigo Duterte to review the suspension of Dengvaxia. According to the president, He
is still hesitant whether to allow Dengvaxia vaccination programs to resume after its suspension
due to a number of deaths in 2017. Sofia Cabardo, reporting.

Second Division dismisses forfeiture cases seeking to recover the alleged ill-gotten wealth of the
Marcoses. The details. Twenty forfeiture cases against the Marcos Family and their cronies have
been dismissed. The case seeks to recover from the Marcoses and their cronies a total of P1.052
billion in alleged ill-gotten wealth. The case was dismissed by the Second Division for the lack of
evidence saying the residential Commission on Good Governance (PCGG), represented by the
Office of the Solicitor General, merely presented photocopies of documents and failed to present
key witnesses during the trial to authenticate their affidavits. In response, PCGG said it would
appeal the dismissal.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) files several charges on July 18 against
Vice-President Leni Robredo regarding the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” video. Charges include
inciting to sedition, cyberlibel, liber, estafa, harboring a criminal and obstruction of justice, based
on the sworn statement of a Peter Joemil Advincula. Represented by her lawyer Marlon Manuel,
Robredo filed a motion before the Department of Justice (DOJ) seeking additional evidence and
witnesses in the complaint. According to Robredo, she is ready to face the allegations as long as
