Some general information (1)

• The halls are located in the city center and the rent is low
• 5.129 places in 24 residence halls are provided in Aachen and Jülich
• different types of rooms are available:
• classic single rooms and apartments
• shared apartments (WGs)
• family apartments for students with children
• accessible apartments for students with disabilities
• Most rooms are partly furnished and have high-speed internet access
• All residence halls are equipped with washing machines and tumble dryers that
can be used for a fee
• Unlike the rents on the private housing market the rents are generally all-
inclusive, so there are no additional payments.

• There are common rooms provided where the residents can meet in their free
time, learn together, celebrate or do sport together
• The hall councils organize social events like foosball tournaments, club nights or
special events for new residents

Application process (1)

It is recommended to apply for a place early! Best as soon as you know that you
might take up your studies in Aachen because the allocation of student dormitories
takes place by chronological order of applications submitted.

Being enrolled at university is not necessary when you apply! Only when you sign
the rental agreement you will be asked to submit your enrollment certificate. It will be
easier to get a room or apartment if you are flexible about the move-in date
(August/September would be best) and the room type.
