Dear CA Alcovendaz:

The Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) is the national governing body for the
dragon boat racing sport in the Philippines. Quarterly, we hold dragon boat regattas in
Manila Bay, Roxas Boulevard to determine rankings of the strongest club crews in the
entire country. Top Philippine teams are endorsed by the PDBF to world championships
organized by the world governing body for dragon boat, the International Dragon Boat
Federation (IDBF). The Philippines, through PDBF, is founding member of the IDBF.

Come 9 December 2018, the PDBF will hold the championship leg of the 2018 Philippine
Dragon Boat Regatta at the Baywalk area, Roxas Boulevard, Manila. The event will be
participated by about 20 dragon boat teams from all over the Philippines, mostly from
Metro Manila.

In this light, may we respectfully request the usual support of the City Government of
Manila by providing us twenty-two (22) units of 16 x 16 feet tents (or their equivalent) at
the race site on the aforementioned date. These tents will be used to provide shade to the
participants, which we project at around 800 people. We will also use two of these tents
for the secretariat and race officials’ tents.

We will follow up this modest request. But should there be a need to clarify matters
pertinent to this request, please feel free to reach the undersigned or our Vice President
for External Affairs Mr. Aaron Ilkka B. Garcia at 0922-832-2766.

Your favorable consideration of this request will greatly help the PDBF, a non-stock, non-
profit organization, defray the costs of this event and support the growth of dragon boat
in the Philippines.
