WHAT ARE NGN NUMBERS?

NGN stands for non-geographical number. NGN numbers are available for sale through vendors such as Diva Telecom. Instead of
being assigned to a particular telephone circuit, for example 0113 for Leeds or 01246 for Chesterfield, a non-geographical number
can be targeted to any other telephone number, including mobiles and international numbers. With NGN numbers, UK business
owners can therefore have a national presence and their customers pay the same call charges wherever they are in the country.

A non-geographical number can bring many benefits and perform a variety of functions, depending on the types of NGN numbers
UK businesses choose to offer, so it is important that you select the right one(s) for your business needs.

A non-geographical number UK can either be freephone (free to the customer, all call charges are picked up by you), subsidised
local rate (the customer pays a standard rate wherever they call from around the country, and you cover the rest of the cost) or
premium rate (the customer pays for the whole call and – depending on the number you and rate you choose – you earn an income
from the calls you receive through these numbers.
