The analysis of coal gasification process was performed by assigning different reaction zones

to number of blocks. The Aspen plus flowsheet of coal gasification process is represented by

figure 1. The details of unit operations and Aspen plus blocks are given in Table 5. The stream,

WET-COAL is a nonconventional type stream which utilize proximate and ultimate analysis

of coal samples to specify coal feed. In the first step, the WET-COAL was fed into dryer to

remove moisture content by heating and drying of the coal feed. The block, REACT-DRY is

used to represents dryer in the process flowsheet. The moisture content is separated as

EXHAUST stream from dried coal in FLASH-DRY block. The aspen plus separator model,

FLASH 2 is used to represent FLASH-DRY block of process flowsheet.
