A. TEST FOR STARCH
1. Add few drops of iodine to a test tube with water Record
the color: YELLOW
2. Lime to another test tube with water and add few drops
of iodine and shake
Record the color: LIGHT YELLOW
3. Mix some cornstarch to the third ntube with water and
add a few drops of iodine
Record the color: BLACK
4. Add a few drops of iodine to a fresh slice of potato
Record the color: GREENISH BLACK OR MOSS
GREEN
5. Add a few drops of iodine to the:

 Muslin: YELLOW TO LIGHT BROWN
 Paper towel: REDDISH BROWN TO DARK BROWN

B. MANUFACTURE OF STARCH
- The Yellow Coleus leaf turned into a moss green

- The Green Coleus leaf turned into a yellow color

- After boiling the coleus leaf with petroleum jelly, the color
turned green. While boiling the coleus leaf in a hot alcohol the
leaf decolorized. Then, the test for starch the leaf turned into
brown and green.
