Benefit of Unpivot
Columns
you can transform selected columns into attribute-value
pairs where columns become rows. You use Power
Query's Query Editor to unpivot columns.

From Report window >>> Go to Visualization and
click on slicer tab then from Fields >>> choose
clause which you need to slice by it

Spread sheet is the mediator between Primavera P6


and Power BI

Before Export Program to Spread sheet file any


option can element problem in power BI program
should be considered to make XLSX file readable
such as but not limit to (choosing Do not show time
In dates in user preferences tab)

Export Program to Spread sheet file with modify


XLSX Templet by choosing Columns whose data can
be used and converted to information appear in the
report such as (Activity ID, Different activity codes,
Budgeted cost,…….etc.)

columns format which should be General data
format will be in XLSX file as a text .Accordingly, it
has to be changed Such as but not limited to (Total
.

Float, Budgeted cost,……..etc.)


This will be by click on Text to columns which in
(Data list >>> Data tools section) then click on Next
>>> Next >>> Finish

Add sheets in XLSX file for different Activity codes


By take copy from activity code windows from
primavera file and paste it in sheets with edit name
of table to match with description in original sheet

If you need to show project start data in a card you
should choose Earliest start

If you need to show project completion data in a


card you should choose latest finish

Power BI Program not scheduling program like


primavera ( doesn’t know Network diagram), so
choosing latest date for finish will equal project
completion data

By Choosing (Budgeted cost & Cum Budgeted cost)

paste on excel
Note. You should Transpose row to columns to be
readable for Power BI as a Budgeted cost and his
cumulative

click on Line and stacked columns chart tab then
from Fields >>> choose clause which you need to
slice by it ( Choose Month in Shared Axis, Budgeted
cost in Columns values and Cumulative in line
values)

Note. You can use line and clustered columns chart


to show planned and actual cost in same chart with
change Data colors
