Creating accents, tildes, and special punctuation requires using a

combination of keys on a PC. For any of the following symbols, hold
down the ALT key while you type the numeric code listed. Release the
ALT key when you are finished, and the character will appear.

For accented vowels, hold down the OPT (or Option) key and the
letter e at the same time. Release these keys and then type the vowel
you wish to accent. See the chart below for information on how to type
tildes and other punctuation.
