CV OF THE COMPANY
Catalina Carrasco & Gaspar Morey founded Baal in 2013. It is both of them plus different invited people depending
on each project.

“Travelling to Nowhere”, earned the VI CENIT award, was selected for touring at the Spanish network of alternative
theatres and for the AECID (Spanish ministry for culture). It has toured in Spain, Germany, France, Greece, Mexico
and Korea. Some of the important venues have been the “Sala Hiroshima” (Barcelona) and the Si-Dance festival in
Korea.

"CROTCH" was created with the support of Fira Tàrrega, El Graner, IEB and the Government of the Balearic Islands.
Also CROTCH was selected for touring at the Spanish network of alternative theatres. Among others, it has been
shown at venues as La Mutant (Valencia), Sala Beckett (Barcelona), Leal-lav (Tenerife), Teatro Circo Murcia, and at
festivals as Bailar a Pantalla (México), Sommerblut (Germany) or Quelli che la danza (Italy).
“MiraMiró”, is a co-production between Baal and the Teatre Principal de Palma. It earned the special prize for the
best show 2018 from the ATAPIB. It has toured at several festivals and theatres as Fiet (Majorca), Conde Duque
(Madrid), Danza Xixón (Xixón), Rassegna Incontri (Italy), Dance days Chania (Greece), the Atta Festival (Turkey) and
the renowned international Prisma festival in Panama, it also tours in several regional circuits. In addition it was
the most voted show at the Spanish network of alternative theatres, which implies a long tour through whole Spain.

GINOIDE was premiered 2019 on September 29th in Majorca. Short after it was presented at the FiraB! and selected
for touring at CONVIVEXIT - an initiative against gender violence promoted by the local education council.

CATALINA CARRASCO

GASPAR MOREY
Graduated in physical education in Valencia (Spain) and doctorate in
Biomechanics at the German Sport University Cologne. He spent most
of his professional career studying human motion in Biomechanics
labs: two years at the Institute of Biomechanics from the Polytechnic
University Valencia, 10 years at the German Sport University Cologne,
and 6 years leading the lab for functional footwear analysis at the
Spanish footwear industry. He has authored and co-authored more
than 50 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, congress
abstracts or book chapters and has been Technical Manager in a 5 mio.
€EU-Grant.
In 2012 he quit scientific research to embrace artistic research. His first
steps were in the technical part of scenic arts. Short time after also as a
performer. For him there are no boundaries between the researcher, the
creator, the technician or the performer. Gaspar does all of this inside
Baal.
He has occasionally worked for other companies or artists as a technician
or as a performer and even had a short role in a well known German TV-
series “Dahoam is Dahoam”.
