CABARIAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL – MAONON EXTENSION

MAONON, LIGAO CITY

Observance of the National Disaster Consciousness Month

Last July 27, 2015 the Cabarian National High School – Maonon Extension had conducted the National Disaster

Consciousness Month

After the Flag ceremony, I, the disaster Risk Reduction Focal Person, had conducted the orientation to all the

students and teachers on what they do if earthquakes happened, unexpectedly. I reminded them that during this calamity,

everybody should not panic; they should go out of the building with their hands covering their heads, to protect them from

falling debris. During also this calamity, they should look for a safer place; this place should be in an open area away from

the buildings.

After the orientation, I told them that we will be having the Earthquake and Fire Drill, if they heard the sound of

the buzzer; this means that they should go out of their rooms because there is an earthquake.

Then the sound of the buzzer was heard all over the campus, all the students and teacher went out of their rooms

calmly with their hands covering their heads. Soon all the students and teachers were all gathered in the Flag Ceremony

Area, this place was the safest place of the school because it is an open area and away from the buildings.

The activity was actively participated by the students and teachers. Truly, it was a simple activity yet a very

informative activity. I know that through this activity, students and teachers are now aware on what to do in case

earthquake and fire happens.

Attached herewith were the pictures taken during the activity.
