Function 1. It can also mark the object of a certain Verb and Adjectives

 ARIMASU – TO HAVE
 IMASU – TO EXIST
 NEGATIVE FORM – ( IMASEN ) ( ARIMASEN)

Ex. Asoko ni konbini ga arimasu - theres a convenience store over there )

Ex. Petto ga imasu – I have a pet

- You have a pet

Ex. Shukudai ga arimasu ka? - I have a homework

- There’s a homework
