INTRODUCTION

Bullying exists in all communities since long time. Bullying exists either in

developed or developing societies. Bullying starts in early age. Child starts to build an

initial concept of bullying. Then, it starts increasing and continues until it reaches its

peak in the basic phase stage (4, 5, and 6). It continues in higher basic stage, and then

started to decline at secondary level (Dickerson, 2005). Bullying is considered a

common form of violence in schools. Various studies indicated that bullying makes

schools to be unsafe places for schools’ students and it contributes in the belief that

some schools are become not safe anymore (Maliki et al., 2009). Shahria et al. (2015)

reported that bullying is deemed as a serious problem in academic settings in all parts

of the world. They found that bullying has negative impact on academic performance.

Females were more affected than males by bullying. Bullying constitute a complex

problem in school kids lives. It is a problem that affects all students, either bullies or

victims, and those who attended interpersonal violence. Bullying may involve many

sections verbal, physical assaults, threats, jokes or language, and criticizing. All of such

factors affect individually, or collectively, and contributes in child’s bullying. It is well

known that bullying is difficult to eliminate or to stop it in schools because it is used by

students. Alison (2016) stated that bullying is considered as global problem that affect

emotional, social, and physical wellbeing of school-age children worldwide Shafqat

(2015, p. 45) argued that bullying in schools occurs in any place either in school building

or around school building and may occur in bathrooms, school buses and during waiting

for school buses, and in classes which may require group work or after school activities.

School bullying is a widespread issue that affects school students in many parts of their

1
lives such as; psychologically, educationally and professionally. Sekol and Farrington

(2016) found that bullies, compared to non-bullies have been bullied before, Bullying at

school affects academic achievement since bullied children feel fear and weak and in

the same time it affects students’ personality traits and self-confidence. Therefore such

situation makes bullied students unable to follow or to pay attention for their study well

and even they might do not like to go to school. Moreover they miss opportunities to

participate with their colloquies or even enjoy school activities.. Many researchers found

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Bullying in schools is a real problem.20 By sending one’s children to

school, one lays the foundation for their life. Bullying is a harmful external factor

that sets the stage for permanent damage which will ultimately have a lasting,

negative effect on the child’s life, reaching beyond puberty, to adulthood. Bullying

may be physical or psychological, which in turn means that it is much more

complex than mere playground pushing and shoving. In South Africa, no

successful measures have been taken yet to eradicate bullying, whether

legislative, or through policy, awareness or any other means by which to stop the

terror that is bullying.

Bullying has always been an omnipresent phenomenon. However, the general

attitude of people towards bullying in the past caused bullying to be glanced over as a

“right of passage”.21 Only in recent years have professionals such as lawyers and

educators realised that bullying is in fact a form of abuse.22 The fact that bullying has

2
only been labelled a problem in the last 30 to 40 years, makes it difficult to trace the

roots.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The statistics are shockingly revealing: bullying in schools is a huge problem.

Research shows that one in seven students is either a victim of bullying or a bully...ONE

in SEVEN. This number is too big and too scary considering all of the possible negative

implications that are a result of bullying.

The purpose of this website is to raise awareness of the issue and to provide tips of

how we can make the statistics decrease. Whether you are a teacher, a parent, a

student, or simply a member of any community, the information and resources included

in this website will help you further understand the issue of bullying. Please take the

time to educate yourself. You never know, your sacrifice of a few minutes could save a

life.

1. Do you agree to implement the policy of no bullying in school?

2. Provide CCTV in some facilities in school to monitor the bully student.

3. Bullying can effect student in their studies.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study will be beneficial to the municipal officials, school personnel, parents,

students, and other researchers.

3
This is study significant to the municipal officials for it helps them to construct

strategies and methods on how to lessen the cases of bullying.

School Personnel. This study will give them a hint to improve their motivational

and teaching materials, techniques or methods and skill in open forum to students who

really need their guidance.

Parents. They will be aware about the kind of attitude their child is processing. It

will give them hint on how they good help and encourage their child avoid bullying.

Students. This study will encourage them to change their attitude towards other

people. It will serve as a medicine to cure the minds of every individual to become open

minded about the consequences of their actions.

Researchers. The researchers n the near future I’ll make use the result of our

present study. This study will serve as their basis and comparison to their future study.

SCOPE AND DELIMINATION

This study will be conducted to the selected Fourth Year students. As a total of 60

students are selected from the whole 4th year student body from the school of

Mahabang Parang National High School.

This group of students was considered to be under the observation about the research

and the survey question will be delimited on the cause of Cyberbullying as well as its

effects.

Therefore we ask them the data gathered will seek to answer what are the

probable causes of Cyberbullying and what are the effects on them especially on their

social life.

REVIEW RELATED LITERATURE

According to Nicole Anne Santos (2013) bullying does not need to be a reality

that student face. As more school adopt whole school prevention programs and actively

work with students, staff, and parents in effectively addressing the issue of bullying and

harassment in each individual school, students will develop.

As a result, bullying victims even cyber bully victims suffer from several physical

and psychological illnesses such as eating disorders, stress, depression and anxiety. In

most cases, bullying victims often think about taking their own lives: They feel that

suicide is the only way of their pain. Bullying victims experience dire risks, and unless

they get the help they need they themselves can transform into bullies.

6
Theories are used to explain, understand, or predict phenomena (Dubin, 1978). The use

of theory is particularly important to illuminate social processes, such as schoolbullying.

Given the complexity of bullying behavior, multiple theories are needed to fully explicate

this socialdynamic and understand what motivates bullying behavior.

Further, theory can also help elucidate the negative victimoutcomes associated with

bullying and explain how theorganizational culture and climate of schools is

associatedwith the prevalence of bullying behavior. The purpose ofthe current paper is

to use the frameworks of social capitaltheory, dominance theory, the theory of

humiliation, andorganizational culture theory to understand motivations forbullying

behavior, the negative impact bullying has onvictims, and the role of the organizational

culture and climate of the school on bullying behavior.

METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the research methodology of the research designs,

participants of the study research instrumentation data gathering procedure.

RESEARCH DESIGN

The researchers utilized for used the Phenomenological Research design in

this study.

PARTICIPANTS OF THE STUDY

7
The participants of this research are selected in Grade 11 students in Pasay City

East High School. The researchers will conduct and find the limitations in finding the

availability of students in school.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENTATION

The researchers will use the survey to identify the situations on how does the

bullying affect to students behaviour. The survey interview has only 2 parts, it is only ask

about their experience in bullying, part 2 is about the support of the administrators on

the students that are being bullied.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

The researcher will ask permission from the office of principal of Pasay

City East high School to conduct study and interview. Permission granted, the

researchers will about to start the survey interview to the selected students of

Senior High School. The data will be gathered. Asking the principal to allow the

student researcher for them to conduct selected students in Pasay City East High
