My favourite leader is Mahatma Gandhi. Full name of Mahatma Gandhi was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

He was born in Porebandar of

Gujarat, India on 2 October 1869.

Gandhi's style of living was very simple. He was follower of 'Simple living, high thinking'. He taught us the lesson of 'Ahimsa'. He removed the
caste barrier in India. He was a reformer. He was shot dead by an Indian on his way to attend a prayer on 30 January, 1948. Mahatma Gandhi is
remembered in the world for his major virtues. The Indians pay homage to this great leader on his birthday by celebrating 'Gandhi Jayanti' as a
national festival of India. I consider Mahatma Gandhi as the greatest leader of India.

Mahatma Gandhi worked hard to eradicate the social evils from Indian society. He advocated Hindu-Muslim unity and condemned the

untouchability, casteism, communalism, etc. He loved the downtrodden and called those Harijans. He promoted women education and

criticised child marriage, purdah system, etc. Under his leadership India got independence on 15 August 1947. Unfortunately this noble

soul, apostle of peace and love was shot dead by a frantic Nathu Ram Godse on 30 January 1948.

In true sense of the word, he was a great leader of the masses. His entire life was a life of service, devotion, sacrifice and dedication.

He had great qualities. He deserves to be adorned.

My favourite leader is Mahatma gandhi

India has been the proud motherland of many great people since ancient times. Many saints, heroes and national leaders of great merit have been born here. Among all of them my
favourite leader is Mahatma , Father of our Naytiongandhi.

he Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, was born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi on 2nd October, 1869, at Porbander. He was married to Kasturba when he was 12. He went to
England for higher studies. He became a barrister and came back to India in 1891.
Gandhiji went to South Africa in 1893 and stayed there for 12 years. He first practiced his non-violent agitation there. He was fighting for the cause of the Indians who were getting unjust
treatment.

Back in India in 1915, he met Lokmanya Tilak and Gopal Krishna Gokhale and joined the freedom struggle. Gandhiji launched the non-cooperation movement against the British. All the
people of India were with him.
Gandhiji was totally opposed to violence. He was an apostle of peace. With his iron-will and kind manner, he united the people of India in their struggle for freedom. He went to jail many
times. Without firing a single bullet, he won independence for India on 15th August,1947.

The partition of India and the death of millions of people in the riots left Gandhiji deeply shattered. He began a fast unto death to stop the killing and succeeded in his aim.

On January 30, 1948, while going for a prayer meeting, Gandhiji was short dead by Nathu Ram Godse. The beloved leader of the nation had passed away, leaving the people of India
alone.
