Aim:-To Simulate single phase half wave rectifier (uncontrolled) with R, RL &
RC load with input supply of 220V RMS, 50 Hz. Calculate the voltage Form
Factor & Ripple Factor for load resistance of 10 Ω, 100Ω, 1000Ω.Determine the
average power delivered & plot output voltage, current (Id) through diode &
source voltage Vs waveform (using PSIM) L=200mH, C =200µF. Compare the
result for change in R value for load L & C load.
Theory:-There is one half cycle of output or load voltage
1) R load –During positive half cycle diode is forward biased (0 -π ) and
gives output voltage V0 as source voltage Vs. During negative half
cycle diode is reverse biased it is zero & V0 is zero
2) RL load -during positive half cycle diode is forward biased & inductor
store some energy in it depending on its value.During negative half
cycle inductor discharge the stored energy through load & diode

Observations:-
1) For R load value of output voltage is independent of value of R.
2) For R-L load as value of R increases the average output voltage increases
but the RMS value of the output voltage decreases.
3) For R-C load if value of R increases then average output voltage and RMS
output voltage decreases.
