COURSE DESCRIPTION

Algebra 2 prepares students to take Pre-Calculus. A major goal of


this course is for students to develop skills in manipulating and
solving linear, quadratic, exponential, polynomial, radical, rational and
logarithmic equations. Topics include linear functions, systems,
polynomial functions, rational expression, powers, roots, radicals,
quadratics, exponential and logarithmic functions, and inverse
functions.

MATERIALS ~ Bring these to class everyday:

◦ A pencil with eraser or a pen.


◦ Paper or a binder/composition book.
◦ Scientific Calculator (TI 30Xa is good choice)
◦ Textbook … much of our class work & homework will be based
on the textbook.

Assignments, Quizzes and Tests


Grades will be mainly comprised from homework, quizzes, and tests.
After two quizzes have been given there will be a test.

EXTRA HELP ~ Your goal is to understand each new concept.


However, you may at times find the need for extra help. Be sure to
ask! Do not wait for a lack of understanding to pile up.
