ABSTRACT

Nengsih Fernita: The management of Pasar Teratai by the Cooperative, Small Business &
Trading Office of Pontianak City. Thesis. Pontianak : Public Administration Study Program,
Faculty of Social and Political Science Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak.
This research aims to find out and describe the planning of Pasar Teratai by the Cooperative,
Small Business, and Trading Office of Pontianak City. This is a descriptive research with
qualitative analysis. The subject of this research were the head of Market Division in the
Cooperative, Small Business, and Trading Office of Pontianak City, the head of Market
Development and Management Section, the head of UPTD Pasar, the Director of Pasar Teratai
Association, the sellers and the buyers in Pasar Teratai Pontianak.
The results show that the management of Pasar by the Cooperative, Small Business & Trading
Office of Pontianak City has not been optimal due to some problems, such as the lack of
building maintenance, the lack of awareness on hygiene issues by the sellers who pile up
garbage carelessly, and the violation of regulation by the sellers caused by the lack of
surveillance and sanctions given to the disobedient sellers.
