OBSERVATION

1. Individual observation: West Lake at late night, it is about 9.30 pm

West Lake enjoys both tranquility and the hectic life from human activities. The
old are sitting on the bench near the lake, immersing themselves into the fresh
breeze and having some chit-chats with others. I only hear some pieces of
information from their conversation. They are talking about life, sharing stories
that happen throughout the day, and talking about their offspring. Some middle-
aged women, in their sporty outfits, are jogging along the pavement. Some young
couples are hand in hand, enjoying the beautiful view.

The volume of traffic is not dense as it is during the daytime. There are less motor
bicycles on the road. The scene is completely different from the daytime.

2. Group observation: Study space at 3.30 pm

Study space at the time I observe are welcoming a number of students to come and
study here. Compared to the recent time I dropped by, it is not as crowded as it
was. Everyone is enjoying their own world. Some are studying, some are busy with
their virtual world through smartphones and some are sleeping after a long hour
studying. The outstanding feature is that everyone respects privacy and tries their
best not to disturb others. They are all aware of their purpose when coming to
study space.
