Setting on the SHS Students’ Academic Performance

Introduction

We human beings are not born on knowing how to live and behave in our
society. Growing up, we learn new different things, from our environment, the people,
but most importantly, from our families, and our knowledge starts at home. Family is the
most basic unit of the society. It is the first one who builds up a person, and has a huge
part in one’s life.
Some families might be in a bad condition, like separated parents, family
complications that led to severance or what we call "Broken Family".
A family is one of the most influential factors in society. The Filipino parents are
important to every child and it helps the youth to develop a good behavior which affects
the outlook of their future of every Filipino child. A Filipino family can really help to build
a good attitude of every person or a child, it also helps a person to honor his dignity and
bring achievements to each member. That how important is the family to Filipino people.

The purpose of this study is to find out the impact of dysfunctional family setting

Valenzuela Campus. It specifically sought to determine the impact of parental conflicts

Childhood education not only affects the achievement and happiness at the
individual level, but also shapes the labor force quality and capacity of innovation
(Heckman 2011) to determine the potentiality of the development of a nation.
Education is a lasting process. Academic performance in primary education plays
a crucial role in obtaining further educational opportunities. Thus, it is also necessary to
examine how family background affects children’s academic achievement at an early
stage (CFPS2010).
Firstly, parents compete for high-quality educational opportunities for their
children and better educational opportunities lead to better academic performance.
Secondly, parenting behavior and educational support for their children could cultivate
children’s learning habits and affect academic performance.
These findings bear important implications for how to reduce the class difference
in students’ academic performance and promote educational equity (CFPS2010).
Parents are among the most important sociocultural factors influencing career
development, especially in areas such as expectations for achievement and teaching
about the world of work through their own occupations (Santrrock 1993).
A family that has a father and a mother that bond with each other and give love
to each other can be a good example to the society. It also important to show the love of
the family and be complete. A family can support, love, fight, and guide you through
thick and thin. (LookUpgrade-2018)
