HRM Group Project Proposal

Proposal:
To gather data and analyse the processes surrounding the HR aspect of training and development in
various organizations with the ultimate aim to learn more about these HR practices in the context of
an organization’s environment which consists of the competition level, the industry types etc. as well
as the organization’s own strategy and long term goals. We also aim to identify is there are any
factors on a national scale that affect training and development.

Significance:
Through our research, we aim at understanding the relation between an organization’s
environment and strategy and the kind of emphasis as well as type of training provided by the
organization to its employees.

Methodology:
We will collect data through our past experience in various organizations as well as the experiences
of our colleagues. We will also look at the industry and the structure, mission and vision etc. of the
organizations that we are studying. From this information, we will build on our findings and
establish, if possible, the relationships between the training and development aspect in an
organization in the overall organizational context.

Implications:
The most important implication of our research is creating awareness amongst ourselves as well as
our peers on the importance of training and development and the way it is done in an organizational
context. We will also be looking at the changes that this aspect underwent in a particular
organization to understand the impact of external or internal events.
