- Improve location of finished goods inventory through the data analysis software
with the purpose of decreasing dispatch time
- Specific objectives • Analyze heat map to define current situation of finished goods
inventory. • Develop a proposal to improve location of products in a selected
finished goods warehouse. • Reduce the picking time in a finished goods warehouse
- The trolley crane should dispach an order whitout stops.  the trucks should be
despach in only one storage and avoid to move to other storage.  The products
sells most frecuently , it should be close to receiving docks.  The operator can
dispach more orders.  the high picking time increase the time of dispach.  The
customer must receive his order on time.
Directly optimizing the picker travel times iscomplex, requiring a detailed warehouse layout
andresource model (pickers, possible routes, routingstrategy, collision detection and
avoidance). Mostapproaches do therefore use an alternative, albeitrelated, objective
measure. Early attempts to reducetravel time were for example based on the idea that fast-
moving items should be located in easily accessibleforward pick areas. Heskett (1964)
extended this simple policy and proposed the cube order index (COI) rule, which ensures
that heavy or fast-moving products arestored in more desirable locations close to ground
level.Modifications of the COI rule have since
been published, which also consider inventory costs orzoning constraints (Malmborg
1996). In general, theseturn-over based policies work well if the order sizes aresmall and
pickers return to the shipping deck after each pick
