Introduction:
Over the world, India is biggest producer. in India sugarcane production is to between 11 to
12% of overall production in the world .With the help of sugarcane part of the sugarcane used for
plantation and remaining part uses for the products like sugar, jiggery, fiber , sucrose, fuel and
chemical, fodder for animal etc. Most of sugarcane production belonging to rural areas, where the
employment of the people plays a vital role. Jaggery making is the oldest cottage industry in India.
Conventionally jaggery is produced by evaporation of water in open pan/s. Furnace is fired using
bagasse, which is residue of sugarcane, obtained during juice extraction. Furnace heat utilization
efficiency is very low, which is ~15% for single~30% for two, and 50 to 60% for four pans. To
reduce complex processes which are using to prepare jaggery in rural areas. Here we perform this
operation by paddle operating bud cutting, and extracting juice from remaining sugarcane. Making
jaggery without chemicals.

Objectives:
1. Make a machine that can remove buds from the sugarcane for the plantation purpose so as
to minimize losses as well as time, money and seeds,
2. To prepare high quality organic jaggery without using any chemicals.
3. To reduce the cost of jaggery preparation.
4. To show we can also prepare jaggery in small quantity by using less energy and human
effort.
5. To reduce complex processes which are using to prepare jaggery in rural areas.
6. To reduce size jaggery plant.

Methodology:
The machine is use to cut the sugarcane bud which is useful to sown of sugarcane .As
convention process of sowing the whole sugarcane is put underground. But whole sugarcane goes
under waste therefore to reduce financial harm and human effort. Our machine is pedal operated.
The sugarcane is cut in circular shape i.e. only bud is cut and we can also use for. Therefore
remaining sugarcane is reuse. By the application of juices extract machine.

Above diagram can explain the working of Small scale organic jaggery plant this is small
scale why because we can prepare only 3 to 5kg of organic jaggery at a time after extracting sugar
cane juice from sugar plant. Raw sugarcane juice is slowly simmered in pans & the water is
progressively evaporated. The impurities present in the boiling juice of sugarcane can be separated
or removed out by using ladies finger vegetable (Bhindi) white colour sticky liquid. Due adding of
this small quantity (Bhindi)liquid into that boiling sugarcane juice scum is form over the juice it
contains impurities and that can be separate very easily without using any chemicals after that Scoop
the boiling juice from one pan to another unit the liquid stats to go hard carries out this process. The
complete process is hygienic, untouched by hands, and most importantly 100% chemical- free!

Design:

Expected Outcome of the project :

1. The sugarcane is cut in circular shape
2. High quality organic jaggery without any chemicals.
3. Low operational and maintenance cost.
4. Very less pollution and process is hygienic.
5. We can produce require quantity of (3 to 5 kg) jaggery at any where

4. In home also we can use this for preparing small quantity of organic jaggery.

Future scope:
1. By adopting electric motor reduce human effort in production of extraction of juice.
2. Improve the quality and color of jiggery by adding different natural chemicals like lime
stone.
3. Reduce the time of production of jiggery using different stove or electric heaters.
4. We can modify this machine to cut the fodder. by adjusting the blade size.

Conclusion:
Design and develop, Small Scale Organic Jaggery Plant for Rural Areas. Which uses the
Pedal operated bud cutting machine and extract the juice from remaining Non sugar cane and make
organic jiggery in small scale level. Us of non-conventional energy as source availability of power
in Interior areas and large scale unemployment of semi-skilled worker. This machine is environment
friendly i.e. non-pollutant. It will bring innovation and mechanization in agricultural engineering.
Unskilled women may also get employment. Development of such energy source which has
tremendous utility in energizing many rural based process machines in places where reliability of
availability of electric energy is much low .
