In sync with the recently launched 'Fit India Campaign' by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra

2019 Modi, Amity campuses across India and the Globe inaugurated the 21st SANGATHAN 2019. The
month-long mega sporting event, which culminates in the Founder's Day celebrations, observed
SANGATHAN
in honour of the birthday of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President – Amity saw the presence of
a Ministerial Delegation from Afghanistan alongwith a medley of students showing their sporting
fervor, zeal and their embodiment of fitness.
Students from Amity campuses all over the country and the globe came together to bring to life
the dream of our respected Founder President through participation in over 35 games and sports.
This event acts as a catalyst by bringing the Amitians together and promotes a healthy
competitive spirit, camaraderie and team work amongst them.
The unfurling of “Sangathan Flag” marked the beginning of the glittering ceremony that was
followed by an impressive march past by over 5000 Amity students. Teams from various
departments of the university participate in over 35 different sports such as badminton, squash,
basketball, volleyball, karate, judo, cricket, chess, swimming, and tug of war among others to
clinch the much coveted trophies. A friendly football match between the girl's and boys' team was
organized as well.
Declaring the Sangathan 2019 'open', Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University, lauded the
growth of Sangathan with every passing year with more number of students participating. “The
heart fills with pride to see Amity spread itself all over the globe. The mission of our Founder
President is to see the Sangathan flame lit in a new campus every year. Amity University's Campus
in Tashkent, Uzbekistan will be the newer addition to the Amity family in 2019 that will see the
Sangathan flame illuminating on Valedictory Day on October 24, also celebrated as the Founder's
Day,” shared Dr. Chauhan.

and how sports along with education help in developing physical health and also the social and
