● Early Family Background and Created Family Structure: ​Born on October 5, 1959 in

Athens, Ohio. Her parents were native to China and later in life migrated to America. Her

Father was the dean of Ohio University college of fine arts. Her mother taught literature

at that same college. Growing up she stayed home and in result did not have many

friends. She loved school and loved to study. She spent her free time casting bronzes in

the Ohio university foundry.

​ he loved school and loved to study. When she was not studying she took

open courses at Ohio University. She graduated from Athens High School in 1977. She

then graduated from Yale University in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in arts. Then she

later graduated with a masters degree in architecture in 1986.

has always had an interest in the environment. She dedicated a lot of her time at yale to

her concerns on the environment. She’s a very talented artist, and architect. Some of her

work resides in different museums, such as her wood sculpture made entirely out of 2x4’s

which resides in a San Francisco art museum.

Architect she has had a few famous works. Most notable includes the Vietnam Veterans

Memorial. As well as the Civil Right Memorial in Montgomery, Alabama.
