HARRIS SEMICONDUCTOR wD HA-5020 100MHz Current Feedback June 1994 Video Amplifier Features Description ‘+ Wide Unity Gain Bandwidth + 100MHz The HA-5020 is a wide bandwidth, high slew rate ampitior . ‘optimized for video applications and gains between 1 and Seana serene ~ 800UI8 10, Manufactured on Haris’ Reduced Feature Complemen- + Output Current. --490mA (Min) tary Bipolar DI process, this amplfier uses current mode Drives 3.5V Into 750. Differential Gain Differential Phas ‘+ Low Input Voltage Noise = 45nVNFE + Low Supply Current, cA 10mA (Max) + Wide Supply Range. .... s5Vto+15V + Output Enable/Disable High Performance Replacement for EL2020 Applications + Unity Gain VideoMWidebend Butfer + Video Gain Block Video Distribution Amp/Coax Cable Driver Flash AO Driver Waveform Generator Output Driver Current to Voltage Converter; D/A Output Buffer Radar Systems feedback to maintain higher bandwidth at a given gain than ‘conventional voltage feedback amplifiers. Since itis a closed oop device, the HA-5020 offers better gain accuracy and lower distortion than open loop buffers. ‘The HA-5020 features low citferential gain and phase and will dive two double terminated 750 coax cables to video levels with low distortion. Adding a gain flainess pertor- mange of 0.1d8 makes this amplifier ideal for demanding video applications. Tho bandwidth and slow rate of the HA-5020 are relatively independent of closed loop gain, The 100MHz unity gain bandwidth only decreases to GOMH2 at a gain of 10. The HA-5020 used in place of a conventional op ‘amp wil yield a significant improvement in the speed power ‘product. To further reduce power, the HA-5020 has a disable function which significantly reduces supply current, while forcing the output to a true high impedance state. This allows the outputs of muitiple amplifiers to be wire-ORd into mu- plexer configurations. The device also includes output short Circult protection and output offset voltage adjustment, ‘The HA-5020 is available in commercial and industrial tem- perature ranges, and a choice of packages. See the "Order- ing Information” section below for more information. For miltary grade product, please refer to the HA-5020/ 883 data sheet.
