PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING NEW WATER CONNECTION IN URBAN AND

INDUSTRIAL AREAS.

1. The application form for new water connection can be had through the Department’s website
(www.phedmanipur.gov.in) or personally from the concerned Executive Engineer, Water Supply Maintenance
Division No-I/Water Supply Maintenance Division No-II/Water Supply Project Construction Division, PHED,
Manipur during office hours.
2. The completely filled in forms are to be enclosed with the Xerox copies of valid Patta and Aadhar Card and to be
submitted to the concerned Executive Engineers personally and their areas of coverage are given below.
i) Water Supply Maintenance Division No-I, PHED, Manipur.
Area of coverage:- Imphal Municipality area Ward No.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, 11,12,13 partly, 24 & 25 and
Greater Imphal area coverage under Langjing Zonal Reservoir, Iroisemba Reservoir, Chingtham Leikai
Reservoir, Khuman Lampak Plant, Minuthong Plant, Nort AOC Zonal Reservoir, Sangaiprou.
ii) Water Supply Project Construction Division, PHED, Manipur.
Area of coverage:- Imphal Municipality area Ward No.13 partly, 14, 15, 16, 17 and western side ofNH-102
(Singjamei Bazar to Douji Leirak).
iii) Water Supply Maintenance Division No-II, PHED, Manipur.
Area of coverage:- Imphal Municipality area Ward No.19, 20, 21 and Greater Imphal area Langthabal,
Canchipur.
3. Documents will be examined thoroughly for any default found in the applicant name.
4. Applicant should submit the duly filled form physically to the office along with site plan of the proposed area.
5. Physical verification at site will be conducted by the concerned Section Officer to examine whether water
connection may be feasible or not and if not feasible to the proposed site, the application will not be entertained
by the authority.
6. If feasible, the application will be approved by the Competent Authority.
7. The applicant will be directed to deposit the water connection charges according to the type of connection by the
Executive Engineer after approval as follows.
i) Security Deposit = Rs.100.00
ii) Connection charges = Rs.100.00
iii) Advance 6 months tax = 6 x Rate of water tax per month of type of connection
The water tariff for different types of connection as detailed below:-
i) Domestic individual connection = Rs.150.00 per month
ii) Hospital upto 100 Beds = Rs.1730.00 per month
iii) Hospital above 100 Beds = Rs.2100.00 per month
iv) Hostel upto 100 rooms = Rs.1860.00 per month
v) Restaurant = Rs.1500.00 per month
vi) Hotel upto 100 rooms = Rs.3000.00 per month
vii) School/College = Rs.600.00 per month
viii) Office = Rs.1000.00 per month
ix) Cinema/Concert Hall/Theatre = Rs.760.00 per month
x) Small Scale Industries = Rs.200.00 per month
xi) Medium & Large Industries = Rs.100.00 per month
Note: The water tariff will be revised from time to time as fixed by the Govt.

8. Connection order will be issued after depositing the required amount by the applicant.
9. For tapping water from the supply line, the consumer shall arrange the requirement of connection materials and
ground preparation i/c road cutting, etc. if required, at his own cost.
10. Connection shall be done/made by the Department only.
