iTunes is the world's best way to build, organize, and enjoy your personal digital music &
video library with your PC.
With iTunes, build your digital music & video library by importing your personal music
CDs or buying your favorite songs & videos from the iTunes Music Store, create your
own compilation CDs to listen to in the car, sync your collection with iPod to enjoy on the
go, and much more.
iTunes 6.0.4 addresses stability and performance issues over iTunes 6.0.3.
Note: After purchasing music from the iTunes Music Store with iTunes 6 or later, you will
also need to upgrade your other computers that purchase music from the iTunes Music
Store to the latest version of iTunes.
System requirements
iTunes 6 requires Windows 2000 or Windows XP with a QuickTime-compatible audio
card. Also make sure you have the latest Service Pack for your computer using Windows
Update.
To create audio or MP3 CDs with iTunes, your computer must have an iTunes-
compatible CD or DVD recorder. To back up your music to a DVD, your computer must
have an iTunes-compatible DVD recorder. To use the iTunes visualizer, you need a
QuickTime-compatible video card.
If you plan to listen to music previews or buy music from the iTunes Music Store, a DSL,
cable modem, or local area network (LAN) Internet connection is recommended.
AirPort Express with AirTunes requires an 802.11b or 802.11g wireless network adapter,
a compatible stereo system or powered speakers, and iTunes 4.6 or later. Playing your
music with one or more AirPort Express base stations requires iTunes 6.0.2 or later plus
AirPort Express Firmware 6.3 or later. Some ISPs may not be compatible with AirPort
Express. For more information see http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/.
If you experience problems installing iTunes, try disabling your anti-virus software and
installing iTunes again.
Important: After installing iTunes 6, you will only be able to transfer music to your iPod
using iTunes. To transfer music from MusicMatch Jukebox or Audible Manager to your
iPod, you will need to first import the music into iTunes. For more information, search
