standard deviation was 0.78 hours. Find the 95% confidence interval of the
mean time. Assume that the variable is normally distributed.

3. Let’s perform a one sample z-test for proportions: A survey claims that
9 out of 10 Engineers recommend using Formwork for their upcoming
construction project. To test this claim, a random sample of 100 engineers
is obtained. Of these samples, 82 indicate that they recommend Formwork. Is
this claim accurate? Use α = 0.05.

4. A city engineer wishes to see if a roof truss compressive strength will


change if a certain material would be added to the overall design. Six
types were pretested and were observed for a period of 6 weeks. The results
are shown in the table below. Can it be concluded that the compressive
strength has been changed at α=0.10? Assume the variable is approximately
distributed. Use Traditional Method.

5. A construction firm must anticipate some orders of precast concrete


structures two months before each quarter. They believe that the number of
casted structures that will ultimately be sold for any particular course is
related to the number of new projects registered when the pieces are
ordered. They would like to develop a linear regression equation to help
plan how many precast forms to create. From past records, the construction
firm obtains the number of newly registered projects, X, and the number of
products actually sold, Y, for 12 different quarters.
