Methods

Research Design
The researchers used quantitative data for the study. A quantitative
research is used to quantify the problem by way of generating numerical data
or data that can be transformed into usable statistics. Quantitative research
uses measurable data to formulate facts and uncover patterns in research.
The researchers gathered respondents from the Barangay of Kumintang Ibaba,
Sitio Ferry, Batangas City.

Participants
The respondents of the study were families and residents from Sitio Ferry
of Kumintang Ibaba, Batangas City. A number of individuals from the total
population were asked for their consent to participate, answered the survey
questionnaire and were identified as respondents. Random sampling
technique was used in determining the participating individuals.

Instruments
The researcher designed an interview schedule while providing a survey
questionnaire as the data collection instrument for this study. The families of
Sitio Ferry were questioned and interviewed. The survey questions were
aimed at eliciting relevant information concerning financial status and stability
of the residents. Questions relating to conditions of community services and
background information were asked during the interview schedule. The
content of the instrument was based on the sample structure of a community
needs assessment of residents in Barangay Mayapa as well as on the
information from the literature reviewed. The survey questionnaire was made
by the researchers and validated by Naga City eSkwela Center. The
questionnaire has two sections: Community services section and the
background information section. Community services section is on the
provision of community facilities and resources while background information
section is on the personal data of the residents. It has a total of 18 items. The
instrument was structured in both rating scale and multiple-choice questions.

Procedure
The researchers first gathered the information about the topic of the study
in order to prepare themselves from the tasks ahead. Upon accumulating
sufficient information about the topic, the researchers immediately began the
task of preparing the data gathering tool. The questionnaire was validated by
Naga City eSkwela Center. With the help of the research adviser and the
authorities regarding the study, questionnaire was constructed. Afterwards,
data were tabulated and results were evaluated.
Data Analysis
Upon the collation of the questionnaires, all gathered data were tallied,
tabulated, interpreted and analyzed. Survey questionnaire were used. Ranking
was used to determine the position of items laid in the questionnaire.
Quantitative data were treated using SPSS.
