Another common tradition is to bake Christmas cookies. People eat Christmas cookies during
the whole Christmas season, but on the night of Christmas eve children leave milk and cookies
for Santa Close.

And Christmas stockings are hung on the mantelpiece for Santa Claus to fill with little gifts

Christmas Eve is on the 24th of December. On this day everybody is busy and in a hurry.

It is American tradition for children to be told that many of their presents are brought to them
by Santa Claus.

Santa flies around the world on Christmas Eve on his magic sleigh pulled by reindeer and
delivers presents while the children sleeping.

Parents teach their kids to behave because Santa only gifts to the nice children, not the
naughty ones.

Many Americans, especially Christians will go to Church to celebrate the birth of Jesus at
Christmas. Many churches have special Christmas Carol services and events where the story of
Christmas is told.

Boxing day comes after Christmas Day. It is on the 26 of December. People visit friends or got
to the theatre. Everybody gives and receives Christmas cards and Christmas boxes.

The typical dinner consists of turkey with potatoes and other vegetables such as carrots and
sprouts.

Family wrapped presents are placed near the tree, including presents to be given to pets.
Friends exchange presents and tell each other, “Do not open before Christmas!” Presents are
most commonly opened on the morning of Christmas Day; other families choose open
presents on Christmas Eve.
