Environment Clearance
All new projects or activities, expansion and modernization of existing projects, any change
in product – mix listed in the Schedule to the EIA Notification, 2006 requires prior
Environmental Clearance from MoEF/SEIAA. Based on the recommendations of
EAC/SEAC the MoEF/SEIAA grants Environmental Clearance.
Forest Clearance
Forest Clearance is required as per the provisions of Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980
[Including Forest (Conservation) Rules (2003)]. FCA allows the diversion of forest land for
developmental and social purposes e.g. drinking water, irrigation, transmission lines, railway
lines, roads, power projects, defence related projects, mining etc. and for that Forest Clearance
is required.
This training regarding process for Environment Clearance and Forest Clearance will be
focussed on understanding the descriptive procedure for the aforesaid clearances for
projects/developmental activity.
