THE EFFECT OF TEACHER PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE AND MOTIVATION OF TEACHER

WORK ON TEACHER PERFORMANCE TO REALIZE STUDENT LEARNING ACHIEVEMENTS

The current educational problems that are related to the low quality of learning outcomes
are one of the educational problems faced by this nation. This condition is thought to be
partly due to the teacher's poor performance, which is an impact of the teacher's lack of
professional competence and teacher motivation.
The purpose of this study is to study and analyze the influence of teacher professional
competence and teacher work motivation on teacher performance in realizing student
learning outcomes.
The method used in this study is descriptive analysis method with census techniques. The
population used as samples or respondents in this study were 70 teachers at MTs Al-Fatwa,
Al-Qomariah and AT-Taawun Sukaresmi Garut. The data collection technique used is the
study of documentation and field studies. While the data analysis technique used to answer
the research hypothesis is statistical analysis with the path analysis model.
From the results of testing the hypothesis by using path analysis (path analysis) that is by
looking at the comparison that fcount and ftabel obtained values of fcount> ftabel that is =
fcount 19.8854> ftabel = 1.5726 means HO is rejected while H1 is accepted. This shows that
simultaneously and partially the variable of Professional Teacher Competence and Work
Motivation of Teachers have a positive and significant effect on Teacher Performance in
realizing Student Learning Outcomes at MTs Al-Fatwa, Al-Qomariah and AT-Taawun
Sukaresmi Garut.
From the results of the study revealed that there are important findings which are the
problems of the teacher's Professional Competency variables, Motivation of Teacher's Work,
Teacher's Performance and Student Learning Outcomes, so to overcome these problems it is
suggested to: (1) provide direction to the teacher to be clearer on assignments and
obligations in fostering students (2) providing opportunities and flexibility to the teacher to
express suggestions and opinions openly (3) the principal carries out his duties and
functions, especially supervision tasks, so that the teacher's activities and performance can
be well controlled (4) creative in the learning process, giving good examples, direction and
guidance to students.
