Summary :
Taiwanese women who received informational support about postnatal

depression 6 weeks after giving birth experienced lower EPDS scores at 3

monthspostpartum than those who did not receive this information. The results of

this study indicate that information support about postnatal depression given to

women in the postnatal period can contribute to psychological well-being.

Postnatal depression is characterized by episodes of irritability, guilt, fatigue,

anxiety, sleep disorders and automatic symptoms that have a paralyzing effect on

mothers, children and families of sufferers after giving birth. The most critical

period for detecting postnatal depression is recommended within 6 weeks of

giving birth on ICD-10. According to the study, the holding of guidance to reduce

postnatal depression is very beneficial because many of them do not know how to

deal with depression.
