Agenda:

To discuss about the retention policy for Psychology majors due to the rising of flunking
students. The meeting will also cover the cause of the aforementioned concern and the best
possible amendments to make.

The faculty of Psychology will report to the Dean about the following concerns:

I. The fair maintaining grade:

 In this topic, the people involved in the meeting should speak to the Dean about the
current maintaining grade and discuss what grade is attainable yet won’t compromise
the mission and vision of the school.
 If the said retention is changed, the proposed grade will automatically mean the
adjustment of the whole grading system.
 The “0” based grading system that was implemented urgently without any prior notice
to the students, hence, the lack of adjustment thereof.
II. The fast-paced trisemester

 This topic includes whether the number of months and hours allotted in each subject
per semester is enough to cover important topics (e.g. topics that could possibly appear
in the board exam).
 Alloting longer hours for board subjects such as Abnormal Psychology, Psychological
Assessment, Theories of Personality and Industrial Psychology.
 The effect of the minimal activities such as quizzes or performance tasks given in each
subject per semester that has significant influence on a student’s grade when they miss
an activity or get a low grade.

III. Effective teaching for the students

 This will provide some standards to achieve in hiring professors who are inclined on the
program they are about to teach.
 Particularly assessing the number of students who are passing or failing in a certain
professor’s class.
 Giving the rightful attention to the quarterly evaluation of the professors by their
students.
