What is KHS Text to Tutor?

Sometimes students struggle with school work. While asking the teacher for clarification or
assistance is always recommended, sometimes school work struggles occur after the final bell
rings. The After School Study Lounge is a wonderful option for students to get some school
work assistance, but what if the tutor in the Study Lounge isn’t an expert in the subject needed?
What if the student who needs help cannot attend the After School Study Lounge? But...What if
it was possible to text a tutor who could help clarify a chemistry concept, provide direction for a
paper, or help troubleshoot through a complicated math problem? KHS Text to Tutor does just
that!

How does KHS Text to Tutor Work?

Students who wish to contact a National Honor Society tutor to seek assistance, clarification, or
understanding on KHS school work can:
● Sign into the KHS Text to Tutor Remind code
● Access the tutor list on the KHS National Honor Society page
● Connect with the necessary tutor through the Remind app

What are the Rules for Participation in KHS Text to Tutor?

● Use your first and last name when signing up for Remind. Any profiles created with
“code” names or inappropriate images will be deleted and discipline action may be taken
if a violation of the technology code is determined.
● Students can text the tutor with their question about a particular assignment or concept,
but CANNOT utilize Text to Tutor to seek answers to schoolwork.
● Text to Tutor is a school work ASSISTANCE resource, not a school work ANSWER
hotline. Students who are found to misuse this resource could face discipline for
cheating of which the penalty could be failure on the assignment and/or Saturday
School.
● Please respect the hours of operation for KHS Text to Tutor (7:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.).
● Keep your Text to Tutor sessions short (15-20 minutes). If more time is needed,
schedule a time for you and the tutor to meet before school in the morning Study Lounge
(7:15 -7:55 Monday through Thursday), or the After School Study Lounge (3:10-4:00
Monday through Thursday).
● If you text a tutor, understand that the tutor may not be available immediately, but the
tutor will respond as soon as possible. Feel free to ask another tutor in the meantime.
