 When will the APU auto-start in flight?
1) Aircraft is in flight and
2) Power is removed from L 115 VAC XFER bus and R
115 VAC XFER bus.

Note: In the mean time the RAT extends.

What is the position of Surge Valve during
APU start?
10° = Fully open during start.
Closes when APU > 95%.

NOTE: Fully closed (90°) for ECS mode.

NOTE2: Fully open (10°) for idle pneumatic mode and somewhere between
open and close for other modes,.

Where is the oil temperature sensor located?

In the Lubrication Cluster, right side next to
oil pressure test port.

At what RPM does the APU door start to close during shutdown sequence?
When the APU speed is below 15 RPM. It takes 30 to 40 seconds to get fully close.

Note: When eighter APU Fire Switch (P5) or APU fire shutdown switch (P40) are operated
the door will close inmediately.

Note 2: After APU was shudown from P40 due a fire and the fire cause was fixed, we can
reset the fire shutdown system by pressing theAPU Fire & Overheat p/b on P5 panel.
Where is the APUC (APU Controller) located?
Rear cabin aft galley area on E7 Rack.

Where is the APU Maintenance Switch Located?

In P61 Overheat Maintenance Panel.

This switch powers APUC when the APU switch is "OFF" in order to APUC to show APU
data in status and maintenance formats.

What must be done if the APUC is to be replaced?

A APUC removal does not cause the loss of data stored in the DMM. See page 1016 top
right text. Run Bite test anyway.
What is the construction of the APU as a gas generator?
The APU is a single gas turbine engine which drives an Electric Generator and a Load
Compressor. The engine has a two-stage centrifugal flow compressor, a reverse flow
annular combustion chamber and a three stage axial flow turbine.
