for Survivor Storm Shelters. We manufacture tornado shelters for communities and for publicly and privately young companies and for residential consumers and in the neighbourhoods as well. Sp 2: [00:00:46.09] Sp 3: [00:00:49.14] Sp 2: Okay, could you introduce yourself again? Sp 1: Abs... Am i looking at you? Sp 2: Yeah Sp 1: I'm sorry Sp 2: [00:01:15.29]could you introduce yourself? SP 1: I'm Katlyn Parrymore, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Survivor Storm Shelters. We manufacture tornado shelters for communities, public and private young companies and residential consumers as well. Sp 2: Could you tell me what the growth of your business is being for the last few years and in relation to and the awareness to the people have now of the need for safety? How are things changing dynamically consumer changed for you? Sp1: I think for us it's fascinating in regards to the above ground tornado shelters, right? We've seen such an increase in above ground shelters. The education that consumers are now kind of aware. I think a lot of times before consumers said "hey, you know lemme picture an old movie and i think about running into a cellar right? So it's 2019, you know, we have new technology, we have new improvement and we're manufacturing above ground tornado shelters and the customers are afforadable, they are easy to install and we're in and we're out and then customers are left with a life saving device and because of that improvement and because of that turn of technology we've seen such a huge increase and in residential and community shelters. We were up for 2018 fifty-five percent for 2017 and projected to grow even more this year. Based on how, you know, customers they want to feel safe , you know, and it's it can be pretty affordable way,you know, we offer a pretty affordable way to be able to do that. Sp 2: Could you give me an idea of what the geographic area of your sales is , where is this the [00:03:05.07]shelters, where are they based on [00:03:07.23] Sp 1: I think it's fascinating over the last few years, you know, we always used to focus our business on what be deemed tornado ally, right? So, Texas, Oklahoma, [00:03:17.20]Alabama, we kinda cover that whole we service nation line and so, but as the last couple of years the weather has shifted a little bit,you know, it's been interesting to see the tornado activity in Mississipi, Tenese, Alabama, Georgia, you know, where we live we've never had to worry about tornados in Georgia before and we've had several in the last couple of years and so it's interesting there is the shift that we have kinda seen in what tornado ally used to be versus what it is now. But yeah, mid-west, south-west. Sp 2: Could you explain a little as to the difference classifications you mentioned above and below and how exclusively about what you still [00:04:05.29]and tornado and shelters? Sp 1: Yeah, we still build below ground and we recognise and my time in the business have recognised people are very firm one way or the other, right? A lot of people are absolutely now i want below ground and a lot of people are i want above ground. And so we still manufacture the below ground units. And for commercial shelters like this we do install them and we take care of the customers nation-wide for that. So a lot of things that customers don't typically consider when below ground versus above ground, you know, let's talk about use of access, you know, if i'm getting that there in age how am i going to get in and out of that staircase a lot sooner. Pets, children, ADA compliants, things that, you know, it's our job to educate them and it's our job to say 'hey, we'll give you whatever you want' like we'll go that but please consider these other options as well. Sp 2: And what are the implicits regulations, do they don't...do they entertain first of all to community shelters rather than residential? What is it.. what's the scope of these specifications those demanded in [00:05:19.21] Sp 1: Yeah, so it"s fascinating kind of the standard that we as tornado shelters manufactures are held to FEMA, that's a regulation, the Federal Emergency Management. They said a code of regulations for residentials and then a code of regulations for commercial use. With that they are also paired with ICC500 code. So between the two they tend...they put together basically a laundry list of items that the standards were held to. I think it's always interesting being in the business that we are and being around as long as we have. We always
