PROJECT NAME : Playstation office

 INTRODUCTION : Office is a building in


which people work at desks doing professional
activities.
PLAYSTATION OFFICE is one in which
various tasks such as game designing and
designing of games related hardware
components is carried out.
 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES -
Playstation has already installed it’s offices at
three places over the world namely London ,
Foster city – California and Japan. Due to it’s
popularity all over the world , specially in India
; it is planning to launch it’s next one in India.
Therefore , I would like to grab
this opportunity to take up this project and
design Playstation office in India . This project
will give me wide opportunity to design a place
where four hundred people will be coming
together and working on desks and spending
their whole day together .

 LOCATION :
1. Total area of the site is 3 acre which is
approx. 12200 sqmt.
2. The site lies in Dandaiya which connects
two main junctions Kapoorthala and Tehri
Pulia.
3. The main road is 45mt. Wide.
4. The side road is 12mt. Wide.
5. Adjacent to site lies commercial complex,
green patch and residence apartments.

 CLIMATE :
1. The site lies in Dandaiya ,Lucknow.
2. The climate of Lucknow is composite one.
3. It has cool,dry winters from December to
February and dry, hot summers from April to
June . The rainy season is from mid june to
mid september.
4. Wind direction in Lucknow is from South-
East to North-West .
5. Climate plays an important role in the
designing of a building.
REQUIREMENTS :
Playstation office is divided into six departments-

1. Project developement and I.T. department.

2. Electronics and hardware department.

3. Quality assurance and game test department.

4. Human resource department.

5. Marketing department.

6. Network section.

Each department shall have following sections-

1. Workplace

2. Meeting area

3. Display area(posters)

4. Storage

5. Refreshment area (cafeteria)

6. Primary circulation area

7. Display walls(television)

8. I.D. Card swapping panel

9. Core eg. Lifts ,ducts, stairs.

10. Gym , Washrooms etc.


AREA ANALYSIS (as per bye-laws)

1. Total Area = 12200 sqmt. (3 acre)


2. Permissible ground coverage = 40%
40/100*12200 = 5490 sqmt.
3. Permissible Built up area = F.A.R. * Site area
=1.25 * 12200
= 15250 sqmt.
4. No. Of floors =
Built up area/ Ground coverage
= 15250/5490
= 2.7 = 2
5. According to bye-laws –
Front set back = 6mt
Rear set back = 3mt
Side set back = 3mt
6. Set back of 5 mt shall be left around bldg.
7. Parking space required for car-
Open Parking =23sqmt.
Basement Parking =32sqmt.
8. For office building per 100sqmt = 2.0
=Built up area/100 *2
=305 cars.
9. Parking space required for two wheeler
=2sqmt.
AREA ANALYSIS (as per my design)

1. Total Area = 12200sqmt. (3 acre)


2. Six different departments shall be placed on
six different floors. Each floor shall have
- Two workplaces( One ganged workstation
other for higher officials)
- One storage
- One meeting room
- One refreshment area(cafeteria)
- Four washrooms
- One waiting area
3. On ground floor there will be adminstrative
section which will have
- Reception area
- Waiting area
- Washroom
- Confrence hall
- I.D. card swapping facility
4. Parking shall be divided into open parking and
basement parking.
5. One floor shall only have Gym and common
food court.
6. Design elements like Pergolas, Voids and
Corbellings shall also be used .
7. Air cooled system of air conditioning shall be
used.
Calculation of one floor area- Plinth
area(approx) :
1. Space required for 70 people working in a
ganged workspace -
If we give area of 8sqmt per head, then for
70 people it will be = 70*8 = 560sqmt. +
Primary circulation area + Area of 4
washrooms
= 560sqmt +90 sqmt + 40sqmt.
= 690sqmt. = 700 sqmt (approx)
2. Space required for 5 people working in a
private workplace –
One cabin = 35sqmt (including washroom
area)
= 35*5 = 175sqmt + Circulation area +
Waiting area
= 175sqmt + 40sqmt + 60sqmt.
=275sqmt = 300sqmt (approx)
3. Meeting Area – Typical space required per
person = 3sqmt.
For 80 People approx =80*3 = 240sqmt. +
Circulation area
= 240+ 110 = 350qmt. (approx)
4. Storage area = 60sqmt. (approx)
5. Refreshment area = 500sqmt. (approx)
Plinth area (approx.) = 2500sqmt
1. Achieved ground coverage = 2500/12200*100

= 25% (approx)

2. Achieved floor height = 7 floors


= 24mt. (approx)
3. Achieved built up area = 17500 sqmt.
4. Parking Area = Car parking for 350 cars is to
be provided .
50 cars (open parking) = 50*23 = 1150 sqmt.
300 cars (basement parking) = 300*32
= 9600sqmt.
Two wheeler parking = 50sqmt .

Total Parking area( open + basement) = 10800sqmt
