• Finish:
Exposed face to underside: Factory applied white finish, capable of being cleaned with damp cloth
and domestic detergent.
Exposed face to top side: Factory applied finish, capable of being cleaned with soft brush and
vacuum cleaner and wiped with damp cloth or mop and domestic detergent – colour white or light

• Module width: Contractors choice: to suit manufacturers standard module

• Jointing system: Manufacturers standard interlocking system.

• Support system:
To be designed by the Contractor.
The Contractor shall provide a walk on ceiling system capable of spanning from Grid Line A to the
outer wall of the Accommodation towards Grid Line C on the Port Side and from Grid Line K to the
outer wall of the Accommodation towards Grid Line H on the Starboard Side.
The outer wall of the Accommodation partitioning on the Factory side towards Gridlines C and H
shall in both cases be load bearing partitioning and it will be the Contractors responsibility to
determine the imposed load (live load and dead load) from the walk-on ceiling system and design
the load-bearing partitions to accept this load and include this cost within his Tender. It should be
noted that the current design does not include for whatever reinforcement is deemed necessary for
the partitions (part half glazed and solid proprietary metal partitioning and part solid plasterboard
dry wall partitioning) to support this imposed load.

External wall interface –the Contractors design will require metal support beams to be provided in
this location. Such support members are to be supplied and installed by the Contractor as part of
the walk-on ceiling installation and are to be designed to support the imposed load from the
Contractors walk-on ceiling system.

For internal wall types and layout refer to the following drawings:
10180001-ID A-1432 Rev A: Accommodation First Floor Partition Gridlines 08-13a H-K, Z-
5, Z-8.

• Trimming for service penetrations: there will be a general requirement for small diameter
penetrations (up to 50mm) for cable connections to light fittings, smoke detectors and alarms,
domestic services pipework and sprinkler pipe connections to sprinkler heads etc.
There will be specific requirements for ductwork supply and extract penetrations – max size 600 x
600mm. Walk-on ceiling Contractor to form such penetrations with any necessary reinforcement of
the walk-on ceiling construction to maintain the integrity of the installation, and to provide
information with respect to the limitations on the frequency and spacing of such penetrations. Inter-
mediate support trimming for these 600mm square service penetration holes shall be located
above the walk-on ceiling so as to maintain a flush underside face.

• Access Requirements: allow for 3No access stairs per side (Port and Starboard). Access stairs to

pitch of 42 . Stairs to be constructed from mild steel flat plate stringers and chequer-plate treads
finished with Leighs Paints M255 colour white to match existing Service Access Gantry steelwork,
applied fully in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Stairs to be complete with BSG (British
Standard Grating) galvanised tubular steel hand-railing (handrail 42mm dia. standards and 33.7mm
