Topic : Vietnamese boy 13, kills woman for money to play video games.

1.) Is there a bad action? Why is it considered bad?

Yes, it is considered bad because even though the suspect is a kid, he should know what
is the difference between right and wrong. As for the kid, he still killed the woman for his own
gain without thinking of the consequences and showing no remorse or caring about the woman’s
own state. It is not right to kill someone especially in society’s moral standard nor one’s own
personal conscience and opinion. He take anything of value by force, threat of force and put the
victim in fear. The worst is he murdered an innocent life. The actions done are unlawful because
he killed the old woman without justification or valid excuse.

2.) What is the problem in the story? Why?

The kid could not find any money to pay for his video games so he resorted to the
horrendous killing of the old woman. The main problem of the story is the senseless killing of an
innocent person and his addiction to play online games which results to the boys' unstable mental
health and poor decision making. Because whatever reason it may be the cause of the killing still
is considered illegal and unethical to everyone.
3.) Is it an ethical problem? Why?
Yes, it is an ethical problem. The kid, in order to play online games had to choose
between right or ethical decision, or wrong or unethical decision. Sadly, the choice made by the
boy was unethical. Justice is not served to the old lady because she died for his selfish decision.
The kid does not respect the life of the old woman. He could have chose to skip playing online
games that time. He could have not killed the old woman for 6.2 dollars, but he did.
