The Good Seraph

Bayárd is a human guardian, generally known as the Avenger of the Dispossessed.

Throughout his life, he has been known as "the Seraph without fear and beyond
reproach." He himself however, prefers the name given him by his friends for his
charm and kindness: "the Good Seraph."

Bayárd was born at Divinity's Reach, the descendant of a noble family, the head of
which had fallen in battle in nearly every generation for two centuries. He served
as a page to the young Lord Faren until coming of age.

Bayárd is the hero of a celebrated combat of thirteen Seraph Soldiers against an

equal number of Scarlet's twisted watchwork minions, and his restless zeal and
valor were conspicuous throughout the Flame and Frost wars of this period. At the
Battle of Lions Arch he single-handedly defended the Ashford Memorial Bridge
against 200 clockwork knights, an exploit that brought him such renown that Queen
Jennah tried unsuccessfully to entice him into her service.

As a guardian, Bayárd is considered the epitome of chivalry and one of the most
skillful commanders of our age.
