Introduction

Airports are essential national resources in any countries. They serve as an important role in
transportation of people and goods in regional, national and international commerce. Air transport is
one of the world’s most important industries.

In terms of Airport satisfaction ,architecture plays a big role for the reason that is the antecedent of
emotional attraction to goods and services from the exterior to the interior that accommodate them,
both tangible and intangible commodity. Architecture creates a friendly environment that attracts and
appeals to the sensory emotional instinct in man to want to see, appreciate and belong. In the process,
economic generating activities ensues which impact on the overall well being of man and society.

Architecture acts through its qualities such as high quality architecture stands for function and well-
being Orientation, functionality and quality of space are hygienic factors indispensable for guest
satisfaction. Short distances, good accessibility of all facilities and prevention of crossing points between
front and backstage avoid conflicts and increase guest satisfaction. High quality architecture stands for
corporate identity; the very first impression of guest and potential customers is mostly enmeshed in
architecture.

Conventionally, Airports have been an airway bases carrying passengers and cargo. Today, airports give
high economic value as locations where various services and industrial activities are transferred.
Additionally, they are recognized as an important means of sealing an economical competitive
advantage, evolving into active service providers that create positive experience for visitors through
diverse experience programs and an efficient use of spaces.

In Philippines ,an Airport Terminal also serves as cultural complex covering a variety of experiences to
visitors including cultural experiences , shopping and art performances, departing from the conventional
concept of a place where passengers simply wait for boarding. By providing these unique high-end
costumer experiences , airports are cultivate images and increase costumer satisfaction.

In the Scope of Our Study and proposed development. Our focus is to produce an important findings.
From the economic aspect , An International airport or gateway that can be treated as an architectural
space brand that fights for appearing growth of international tourists,potential inhabitants’ and
investors’ consciousnesses.The space treated as the object of demand and supply that becomes an
element in a marketing game and to be an economic value instrument in the Laoag ,Ilocos Norte
Philippines. The architecture should be one of the marketing Instrument f or the purpose of redefining
the role of Architecture in Philippine Economics.
