Daily Report

Day 1 (26th December 2019)

i) Interacted with the staff of Pratigya and was briefed about the functioning, teaching
methodology and various intiatives of the NGO.
ii) Met and conducted an IT session of the students that were enrolled in the GSL (Green
Sunlight) Department in the NGO.
iii) Taught the new students about the Basics of Computer Hardware.
iv) The students who were already on the verge of their course completion were taught
various functions of MS- Excel.

Day 2 (27th December 2019)

i) Conducted a basic English Language test for the students to check the basic grammar and
sentence formation of the students.
ii) The students were evaluated on the basis of their reading, writing, listening and speaking
abilities.
iii) Fluency, Spelling, Pronunciation, Punctuations and Grammatical errors were checked
and marked accordingly.

Day 3 (28th December 2019)

i) Taught students about the basics of typing which included positioning and movement of
fingers on the keyboard.
ii) Helped them memorize the keys on the keyboard and encouraged them to type without
looking at the keys on the keyboard.
iii) Typing Master software was taken into use to accelerate their typing speeds and record
their time for further improvement.
iv) The students were asked to type a paragraph within the given time.
Day 4 (30th December 2019)

i) Helped the NGO authorities in organising a New Year’s Party for the students the next
day.
ii) Held telephonic conversations with the previous batches of the NGO and invited them for
the New Year’s Party.
iii)The students continued with typing practice on Notepad, Ms- Word and Typing Master
software.

Day 5 (31st December 2019)

i) New year celebration with the current and previous batches of the NGO.
ii) Participated in various indoor activities and games along with the students.

Day 6 (1st January 2020)

i) Annual Sports Day function was organised for the students and staff members of all
branches of Pratigya NGO at Japanese Park, Rohini.
ii) Various outdoor sports and activities like 100 metre sprint, high jump, badminton,
volleyball etc were managed by us.

Day 7 (2nd January 2020)

i) Took the IT class of the students where MS- Word Basics were explained.
ii) Basic formatting like Bold, Italics, Underline, Indenting, Font Size and Colour,
highlighting etc were explained and helped the students implement the same on their
respective PC’s.
iii) All “Ctrl +” shortcuts in MS – Word were told.
iv) The students were assigned task on MS- Word and were made to prepare a one page
word document wherein all the above functions and shortcuts were implemented.
Day 8 (3rd January 2020)

i) Conducted a Baseline test where I served as an invigilator as well as the evaluator.


ii) The purpose of the test was to check the basic grammar and sentence formation of the
students so that the students could be trained accordingly.
iii) The students were evaluated on the basis of their reading, writing, listening and speaking
abilities.
iv) Fluency, Spelling, Pronunciation, Punctuations and Grammatical errors were checked and
marked accordingly.
v) Post completion of the test, MS – Word formatting session resumed and the previously
taught concepts were revised along with the knowledge of Layout of a wordsheet.

Day 9 (4th January 2020)

i) The first batch of the students were taught about the designing of wordsheets using
different themes, watermark, borders etc.
ii) Inserting Pictures, Tables, Page Numbers, Headers and shapes were also explained and
implemented.
iii) The second batch was taught about various text functions of MS Excel like Left, Right,
Mid, Concatenate, Len, Find.
iv) Various assignments involving all these functions were practiced.
v) Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts were taught to the students and the practical implications of
excel table, Pivot Charts etc were explained.
vi) Several other functions like SumIf, CountIf, Vlookup, Match, Index, Trim etc were told
and executed in the assignments.
