Requirements to Become a Certified Cisco Systems Instructor (CCSI):

1. Candidate must first be sponsored by a Cisco Specialized Learning Partner or Cisco


Learning Distributor and must have a current CCNA or higher certification.
2. Candidate must select any authorized course to be their initial baseline course which
they will be certified to teach (i.e. ICND1, ROUTE, TSHOOT) once they pass the
Instructor Certification Program (ICP). The initial certification course selected is entered
in the ICP registration form by the Learning Partner instructor lead (step 6).
3. Candidate must pass the exam associated with selected initial baseline course at the
CCSI cut score. (Exams list with CCSI cut scores are available on the CCSI Forum.)
4. Candidate must observe the class selected to be their initial baseline course taught by a
CCSI.
5. Candidate obtains the Student and Instructor Kits for ICND1 and ICND2 from the
sponsoring Learning Partner to prepare for the ICP event.
6. Sponsoring Learning Partner enrolls the candidate in the 2-day Instructor Certification
Program (ICP) event which evaluates Presentation skills and Technical/Lab skills.
7. Candidates must pass both presentation and lab components of the ICP event to qualify
as a CCSI.

NOTE: ICP Proctor must submit all candidate results to icp_results@cisco.com AFTER the
ICP event. Once validation has been done, ICAD Team will send a welcome email to the
CCSI and the associated Learning Partner which contains the official CCSI number within
one week of obtaining candidate results from ICP Proctor.

Candidate must also purchase the CCSI Membership and accept the CCSI Agreement.
