Communication Strategies

Communication is always a give and take process between two


participants. From this perspective, we consider that the solution of
communication problem is the responsibility of both speaker and
listener and that correct strategies to get the right message across.

Communication Strategies - is a systematic technique employed


by speakers to express their meaning when faced with a language
problem or difficulty.

*one of the biggest source of misunderstanding and communication


breakdown is language
These are the 12 strategies that the studies show:
1. Message abandonment
2. Topic avoidance
3. Circumlocutio.
4. Approximation
5. Use of all-purpose words
6. Word coinage
7. Use of nonverbal means
8. Literal translation
9. Foreignizing
10. Code switching
11. Appeal for help
12. Use of fillers/hesitation devices.
