To the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Student

Bachelor of Science in Accountancy is one of the most difficult courses. That’s

why before you choose this course you should know to yourself that you are ready to
face all the challenges and sleepless night for studying all accounting books. You should
love and be passionate about what you have chosen so it will not be hard for you to
finish your course.

Internship is one of the requirements in every student before you able to finish
your degree. It helps the students to learn, gain knowledge and to know in the real
world what is the career of being accountant.

Before applying as an intern to a certain firm or agency, you must first know your
goal. Choose your workplace where do you see yourself as an accountant. Internship
doesn’t always have to be far from your home or from the school. You should
remember that attending class and having internship at the same time is not that easy
especially in examination week. You should know how to manage your time.

You don’t have to be intelligent to finish the internship. Having a good attitude is
more important and how you capable to along with others. Be polite in all times even
you are older than them, even they’re on the same age as you, even if they are in the
lowest position.

You should take the On – the – Job Training seriously because at the end of the
day, you can use it as your powerful tool for your next chapter in life as a professional.
B. On the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Practicum Option

On – the – Job Training is very important not only to teach students regarding
their chosen career but also to show in students the reality about working. The students
will be exposed to the actual work related to the course that they are taking. It helps the
trainee to learn more about chosen field and practice what they learned from the
school. It helps in the building up of the trainee’s competence. This training develops
one’s professionalism in dealing with people. After the training, the trainee will be able
to handle situations properly and they able to know how to socialize well with his
colleagues.

I would like to recommend that this program be moved on summer so that the
students will be able to focus on their studies. Also the trainees can choose their
internship work place from far away so that they can experience to work not only in
Laguna but also in Manila. It will be better if the training days will be from Monday to
Friday so that the experience and learning will be continued every day. This will help the
trainees to focus on their internship. Having a subjects taken and internship at the same
time is very hard to manage. Sometimes we cannot prepare for the quizzes and
examinations given to us since we arrive at home in the evening. But on the other hand,
it helps us to maximize our time and taught us how to manage it wisely.
C. On the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Curriculum

I am very much grateful that I am one of the students in Laguna University

because they have highly skilled professors that are guiding the students and free
tuition fee institution.

I can say that this curriculum is competitive enough because the department
already produced CPAs. To our professors, thank you for continue guiding and teaching
us.

I would like to recommend that accountancy students must have their own
library so they can study peacefully and not be bothered by other courses.

Because of the K12 program most of the curriculum would be changes and some
of the subjects will not be available anymore that’s why as irregular and accountancy
students at the same time I would like to suggest that they should allow the irregular
students to take more than 24 units every semester so they can enroll all the back
subjects in curriculum before they enter in fourth year. Like what I’ve experience they
not allowed me to take those subject until it become not available anymore and I need
to open or cross enroll those subject in my last semester. It will be harder for me to
have a back subject in my last semester because I need to manage my time in upcoming
feasibility studies and remaining subjects at the same time. Most of my classmates are
irregular students that why I can see that this is very important to recommend.

Being a free education institution many students will encourage enrolling in our
school that’s why I like to suggest that the enrollment must do online. It will be a big
advantage to the irregular students like me. We can see the entire available subject that
we need to take without hassle and thinking what if that subject is full slot.
D. To the Provincial Government of Laguna – Office of the Provincial Accountant

First, I would like to say thank you for allowing me to be a trainee in your office.
It is an honor for me to be part of the Office of the Provincial Accountant (OPA) even for
a short period of time. I am very thankful because I gained a lot of knowledge about my
course chosen.

I suggest that you should continue doing great in handling interns but you must
limit the intern that you accept. I know that you want to help the entire students but
having many trainees in the office makes them to make noise in the office and some of
them have no task to do.

I also suggest that the trainees must have their own table so they can do their
entire task properly. I know that the office have not enough space but it is better for
them to have their own place.
